Anne’s Rose

I have finally learned a few tricks of the trade & it was time to start making my first piece. I knew I wanted to make something for my parents 43rd anniversary, my grandma Anne was always an amazing artist and I am luckily enough to have three paintings that she made up in my house.

The Hawaiian beach scene is actually a collaboration that I did with her my Sophomore year of college. But knowing that she had a lot of amazing artwork floating around, I decide that my first had to be an other collaboration with her, since the beach paintings was one of the last pieces she ever painted. The last was the Point Cabrillo light house was her final painting. Rest in peace Grandma!

Anne Jeffries - Rose (1977) oil on canvas

Here is the inspiration. A painted she made in 1977, a solid nine years before I was born! My mom has a particular affinity to roses, so I knew it would be the perfect gift for her and my dad’s 43rd anniversary.

Here is the process for creating the rose. Initial design — refined design — cutting glass — placing glass — leading glass — polishing - then the install.

If you like this piece I can build one for you! Only doing five of them, so get it while it’s hot!
